(thanks to my anonymous source for pointing me to this article!)

As you've enabled a catch-all e-mail address on your domain and given you're using Roundcube, you might be interested in a basic plugin I made to allow custom sender input when you're composing or replying from your webmail (see https://github.com/r3c/Custom-From). But you may also be using a more reliable solution already, and in that case I'd be happy to get some feedback :)

Truecrypt is the way to go if you'd rather hide the evidence than destroy it altogether.

You could also use Truecrypt's hidden volumes / hidden OS features, if you're feeling particularly paranoid : http://www.truecrypt.org/docs/?s=plausible-deniability

I can't help thinking that Thomas' suggestion should be enough for a "casual" check, though, and if you're being subjected to a thorough enough check for the agent to notice you're not logged in as root (or honestly, not just give up when he sees you're not on windows :p), you're probably in enough trouble already that hiding your porn and warez won't help ;)

Yes, but for different reasons. If you are looking for a self-hosted Google Reader replacement, I suggest you consider Tiny-Tiny RSS: http://tt-rss.org/redmine/
